Thompson House: Rehabilitation and Nursing Center - Residential Care in Brattleboro Vermont

COVID-19 Update: November 4, 2022

November 4, 2022

Dear Families and Friends,

We’re pleased to report some better news on the COVID-19 front. First, we haven’t seen a new positive case since last Friday, October, 29, and a number of previously isolated residents have since come off precautions. And second, barring unforeseen circumstances, all residents impacted by the recent outbreak (all of whom are doing well, by the way) will be off precautions by Election Day, November 8.

Please know that many nursing facilities in the area are presently experiencing COVID-19 outbreaks as the community transmission rate remains high. Given that, we continue to emphasize the importance of staying current on your boosters, masking in crowded situations, common sense social distancing, and the monitoring of symptoms prior to visiting (in other words, if you have any, don’t).

As always, we are grateful to the Vermont Department of Health for their continued staffing and equipment support and ongoing epidemiological guidance. And speaking of vaccines, residents and staff received the latest Omicron COVID-19 boosters, as well as the updated influenza vaccination for this flu season, on October 25. We thank them all!

Sincerely,

Judy Morton, Administrator
Melissa Osborne, Director of Nursing
