Thompson House: Rehabilitation and Nursing Center - Residential Care in Brattleboro Vermont

A letter to family and friends of Thompson House from our administrator (March 21, 2023)

March 21, 2023

Dear Residents, Friends, and Families,

We are writing to inform you that we now have a total of 3 staff and 1 resident positive for COVID19. All residents in nursing home and residential care have been tested and remain negative and asymptomatic. Facility-wide resident testing will occur again on 3/22, 3/24, 3/26. We will keep you updated with any new positives.

A friendly reminder to continue to mask wearing when visiting with residents, and when coming into the building. Please refrain from visiting if you have any signs or symptoms of COVID19, or have had direct exposure. As of today, Community Transmission levels for Windham County are “moderate”, with Bennington “substantial”, Rutland and Windsor “High”. The most effective way to prevent the transmission of COVID19 is frequent and thorough hand hygiene, cough etiquette, staying home if feeling sick, mask wearing, and social distancing. We have antigen tests available for any visitor who requests one prior to visiting.

Another update, Michael Hudson, our Social Services Designee, has transitioned out of Thompson House. The staff and residents wish him well in his future endeavors! Tiequa Franklin, Care Coordinator / Registered Nurse, will now be the point of contact for referrals, careplan meetings, care coordination, updates to advanced directives.

Thank you,

Melissa Osborne
