March 8, 2022
Dear Families and Friends,
This morning’s results from our latest round of facility-wide PCR testing have confirmed the positivity of our “presumed positive” resident and identified two additional positive residents.
All families are aware.
This brings the total number of affected residents to eleven and, as before, all are on the Long-term (first) floor. At this time we are grateful to report that most residents are asymptomatic and of those who do have symptoms, the symptoms are mild and manageable with conservative treatment and TLC.
Nursing has been and will be monitoring the vital signs of positive residents multiple times each shift. Group activities have been curtailed, regrettably, and isolated residents will continue to be served meals in their rooms. The Snack/Drink/Games Carts are in service and checking-in with folks several times a day.
We will retest (PCR) all residents again on Thursday, March 10, as well as the 14th, 17th, and 21st. We have rapid tests for any new symptoms that may arise in between those testing dates.
Again, we thank you in advance for limiting your visits to the facility, if possible, and thank you for following the precautions we’ve put in place when you do visit.
Feel free to call and speak to nursing for resident updates, and please be patient. We’ll update you next with Thursday’s test results which, we hope, we’ll be receiving Friday morning.
That’s about it for today, aside from another heartfelt thank you for your understanding, support and encouragement – we’ve gotten cards, emails, phone calls and notes and each is more welcome than the next!
Sincerely,
Melissa Osborne, RN, DNS
